We always love returning to Walnut Hill with couples who’ve chosen it to be their wedding venue. It’s a gorgeous spot with plenty of views, a lovely main house and lots of places to roam and grab beautiful images. Stephanie and Alex said their I Dos there in March of this year – just before we all felt the world completely shift. It couldn’t have been a prettier day or a more smooth service. Plus – we all had a ball.
The Couple
Not only was the weather perfect, but this couple is incredibly calm, sweet and fun. Their photographer made excellent use of the grounds, the house and the reception venue to capture images of them with their family and friends that will later be heirlooms.

One of our favorite details from this wedding was the enormous cake created for the couple. It was huge; it was gorgeous and it was topped by a special family heirloom – Stephanie’s grandmother’s cake topper. Her grandmother had it on top of her cake when she married in the 1950s and every bride on that side has used the topper on her cake. March 7th was Stephanie’s day. At the end of the evening, Stephanie’s grandmother handed the topper to Stephanie’s little sister and said, “you’re next!” It was incredibly sweet.
