The Place

Walnut Hill is a perfectly classic, rustic-chic and elegant summer wedding spot and it did its job once again when Katy Cockerham and Mike Stefanik were married there in early September of 2020. The sun was shining and the temperatures were delightful. Our bride and groom – along with as many of their nearest and dearest as possible – gathered to celebrate a new union.

When Katy & Mike were first engaged Mike had only one wish: he wanted to wear a Carolina blue tie on his wedding day.
Katy finally gave in and after more thought (and Pinteresting) the Carolina blue found its way into many of the decor elements of this wedding. Go Heels! The color combo of silver, grey, and blue was perfect for this southern wedding, and was also the perfect pop against the greens and whites of Walnut Hill.

Pre-Wedding Prep

The Note Before...

Katy and Mike exchanged letters to each other and, like First Looks, these are precious moments to capture. Long after the wedding is over, these images will remind them that they each stopped in time to read words of love, hope and expectation.

The Ceremony

The Cockerham-Stefanik ceremony was outside and accompanied by music from Katy’s brother. After photos, Katy and Mike joined cocktail hour with their guests. Fords Fluent n’ Food treated everyone to an amazing dinner which was followed by cake and ice cream (Mike’s favorite dessert) and lots of toasting and fun.

The Details

The centerpieces were created DIY, but the head table greenery and all other arrangements were created by their florists at The English Garden. Carolina Blue showed up in napkins and other elements and the palette played perfectly with what Walnut Hill already brings to the party: greenery, fresh air, looming and glorious trees and outdoor features that make the occasion into a garden party.

Sparkler Send-Off

After dancing the night away and some amazing toasts, the couple had a sparkler exit into their Happily Ever After.
