Both the bride and groom, along with most of their wedding party and guest list are in the medical field. Kim knew that she wanted the date 10.10.2020 and when the pandemic called us all up short, it was no problem. Their goal was for a small, intimate gathering and that is exactly what they had.

Prep Time

The ceremony was held inside the small chapel at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel and the reception under a tent in the courtyard, just outside. The weather was lovely and when the rains began to pour later, we were all safely ensconced and dancing away under the tent.

One fun(ny) tidbit was the handling of Kim’s bustle. Goodness gracious… this was, of course, NOT our first rodeo, by far and so tying up a bridal gown bustle is de rigueur. Kim’s was a post graduate, doctoral dissertation bustle (maybe you’ve heard of those) and it took the bride, groom and Tara, along with watching a video, to make it happen.

Tara: “Normally, even when a bride tells me that her bustle is difficult, I am able to master it in a matter of minutes, no problem. In fact, this is something I’m proud of. But this took multiple tries to get it right. All in all it was a fun break in the hustle and (ahem) bustle of the day, when the couple and I could just relax and joke around while searching for invisible buttons and snaps. Looking back, it was one of my favorite moments of the day.

The Ceremony

The Details

The floral arrangements were designed to look as if the flowers had all just been handpicked from a garden and gave the chapel and reception a stunning, storybook feel.

Guests were treated to party favors that were both touchingly personal and Oh-So-2020. There were place cards for each guest with handwritten notes from the bride and groom along with a picture of the couple with each guest. It was an inspired idea! Guests were also equipped with bubble-guns, toffee and yes, custom hand sanitizer

The Couple

These two are proof that even during a pandemic, love wins and celebrations should still be and still can be true celebrations. We loved this wedding experience and wish them both love, prosperity and good health.
