Wedding Planning: Historic Wakefield Barn: September 2025
Alexis and Joe’s September wedding at Historic Wakefield Barn balanced classic Southern elegance with a subtle thread of storytelling inspired by something deeply personal to them. Set against the backdrop of a historic horse farm, the day unfolded with intention, layering meaningful details without ever feeling overdone.

From the very beginning, the couple approached their shared love of Harry Potter with a light hand. Rather than leaning into overt theming, they worked closely with Premier Party Planners to weave in elements that felt thoughtful and elevated. Save-the-dates nodded to the iconic newspaper, while escort cards invited guests to “discover” their tables through scratch-off assignments, a quiet wink to the sorting ceremony. During cocktail hour, shelves displayed their collection of film-quality wands and memorabilia, offering a glimpse into their world without overwhelming the aesthetic.

First Looks & Two Ceremonies
Beyond the layered design, Alexis and Joe made space for what mattered most, their people, their story, and a few well-placed surprises. Their dogs were part of the celebration, attending the ceremony and staying for portraits, with help from Dogs Like Ash. Signature cocktails were named in their honor, adding a personal and playful touch to the bar. Late-night pizza made an appearance for guests, a nod to the groom’s favorite, while a beer donkey from Magic by David kept cocktail hour lively and unexpected.
The reception space carried that same sense of restraint and creativity. Long farm tables and floating candles evoked the grandeur of a familiar dining hall, while a small moment of magic, activating the candles with special wands, became an unforgettable highlight. Even the favors, winged key bottle openers, felt more like a clever detail than a theme, tying into the couple’s vision with ease.

The Wakefield Barn Reception
The celebration came together with an exceptional vendor team. Historic Wakefield Barn set the stage, with planning and design led by Premier Party Planners. Rentals from Curated Events, catering by Catering Works, florals by Teacup Floral, and music from Save the Date and Heads Up Penny created a cohesive and elevated experience. Captured by Point 200, every detail, from the champagne welcome to the final dance floor moments, was documented with care.

Alexis and Joe’s wedding is a reminder that the most memorable celebrations don’t rely on spectacle, they’re built through intention, personality, and a willingness to tell your story in a way that feels entirely your own.
