Rachel and Owen’s wedding journey began with a search for the perfect setting — a place that felt like them. After touring several venues around the Triangle, they instantly fell in love with Carolina Grove. With its modern aesthetic, natural backdrops, and thoughtfully designed “getting-ready” spaces for both wedding parties, it offered the ideal canvas for their love story: refined but warm, contemporary yet inviting.
With the venue secured, the design vision came to life. Rachel gravitated toward a rich, earthy palette of muted browns, soft mauves, blush pinks, creams, and layered greens. She wanted the celebration to feel cohesive — as though the indoors and outdoors were seamlessly intertwined. Custom lighting and live greenery were incorporated throughout, blurring the line between patio and reception space. Farm tables and natural wood chairs were complemented by layered textures and lush, modern floral centerpieces that felt light, airy, and effortlessly romantic.
Special Details
Personal touches made the day even more meaningful. Owen, lead brewer at Wye Hill Brewing, ensured their guests enjoyed custom-labeled beers he designed himself — a detail that brought so much personality to the celebration. In a beautiful tribute to Owen’s late mother, a memorial chair was reserved during the ceremony, and Rachel carried her favorite flower, stargazer lilies, in her bouquet. The ceremony itself was made even sweeter by the adorable ring bearer and flower girl duo — the couple’s beloved dog, Ryker, and Owen’s niece — who took their roles very seriously and charmed everyone in attendance.

Guests were welcomed with a champagne wall and live string musicians, setting an elegant tone from the start. After Rachel and Owen exchanged heartfelt personal vows, cocktail hour unfolded on the patio beneath rattan lanterns and twinkle lights. As the evening continued, the dance floor opened and the celebration truly came alive. Guests danced the night away to a live band, pausing only to grab one of Owen’s signature brews or step into the photo booth for a keepsake.
