Wedding Planning: NC Museum of Art: April 2025

Olivia and Hunter’s April wedding at the North Carolina Museum of Art was a beautiful blend of classic style and vibrant personality. The couple’s sweetness set the tone for the entire day, creating a celebration that felt both elevated and genuinely heartfelt from beginning to end.

The Artful Wedding Setting

From the beginning, this wedding rewrote tradition in the coolest way. Guests were invited to wear red, creating a cohesive, editorial look that translated beautifully in photos. Everywhere you turned, there was texture, depth, and intentional style — from the lush florals by The Blossom Jar to the subtle skull touches tucked into the décor. Ashtyn carried a preserved bouquet of dried and silk flowers that paired effortlessly with the live arrangements and ceremony arbor, merging modern artistry with organic, moody romance.

The Preparations at NCMA

Olivia spent the morning getting ready at her sister’s downtown Raleigh apartment, surrounded by her bridesmaids, her sister and two nieces, along with a group of close friends she included as her “something blues.” Since everyone prepared separately, they shared a special first look together at the venue, followed by a touching first look between Olivia and her dad before the ceremony.

A Wedding at NCMA

Set against the museum’s modern architecture, the outdoor ceremony perfectly complemented Olivia’s vision for bold, colorful design. Florals by Bloom Works were woven throughout every detail, from the ceremony to the reception, even appearing on the cupcakes from The Phoenix Bakery. A playful nod to Hunter’s career as a librarian, the seating chart featured library check-out cards, adding a personal and memorable touch for guests.

The Reception & Details

After exploring the museum grounds for portraits with Bri Hines, the couple joined their guests for a lively reception with catering by Catering Works and music from KM DJ Company. Once the dancing began, the energy never let up, thanks in part to Olivia’s background as a dancer. The night ended with a joyful bubble exit, a perfect sendoff to a day filled with color, connection, and celebration.

Congratulations Olivia and Hunter, a couple of priceless works of art themselves.
