Wedding Planning: Walnut Hill November 2023
Setting the stage at Walnut Hill
Kaleigh and Johnnie wanted a beautiful fall wedding and Walnut Hill was the perfect backdrop for their incredible day. Their ceremony took place at Walnut Hill’s open air chapel, which was covered in twinkle lights, gorgeous florals, and surrounded by the natural autumnal foliage. The details of this wedding are absolutely stunning and they went big with everything. We loved being able to bring their wishes to fruition at this popular wedding venue.
Choosing Walnut Hill was ideal for this fall wedding, especially when you add richly hued linens at the reception, florals to the ceremony, the aisle and outdoor seating, and throughout the reception hall. Setting the stage for Kaleigh and Johnnie’s big day was almost as exciting as watching the day unfold. Everywhere you looked, there were fall arrangements filled with seasonal flowers, greenery, candles and romance. So many beautiful details made this Walnut Hill wedding epic.
Preparing for the Aisle
During the preparations, photographer Samantha Holloway took note of the custom elements for the bride and groom. The wedding date was embroidered on the silk pajamas that Kaleigh wore while having her hair and make up perfected. Both Johnnie and Kaleigh’s father wore bespoke suits with personalized lining. Everything was original and provided an extra narrative to the day.
The bride and groom exchanged letters before their first look, and both were each deeply moved. You could tell they were ready to see each other! The bridesmaids’ gowns blended so well with the foliage, it was as if they’d perfectly matched their dresses to the trees. Even the bride’s gown had lace that celebrated the natural world.
First Looks at Walnut Hill
The future bride and groom chose to have a first look for themselves, and then Kaleigh had another with her father. In their custom suits, each gentleman was so moved and excited to see “their” girl.
Autumn "I Dos" at Walnut Hill
The couple said their vows overlooking tranquil water, while the candles and flowers decking rows of chairs led your eyes to the incredible floral hoop. The ceremony was a stunner.
If you’re looking for an outdoor wedding venue with an abundance of places for posed photos, give Walnut Hill a look. This couple used their autumn palette and the many natural spots to capture special moments.
Autumn Wedding Details
Puzzle pieces were a theme on this lovely wedding day. They were used as part of the couple’s guest book, as well as place cards telling guests where to sit, to even their signage. Guests loved the significance of how we all play our part in the lives of those we love – each a part of the grand puzzle.
Mooresville florist Once Gathered created a chandelier from greenery and lights to hang over the dance floor and it was a showstopper. Guests were treated to desserts in the form of cake, a donut board and towers of macaroons to match the colors of the wedding. And even though the couple’s dogs weren’t at the wedding, they were represented on koozies that were passed out with every drink. Again, no custom detail was missed.
The Romantic Reception
A sparkler exit capped off the day and sent Kaleigh and Johnnie off on their new life together. We wish them all the joy in the world!
