Hilary Patterson and Michael Cooper’s December wedding at Rose Hill Estate felt like stepping straight into a Dickens novel, with some serious modern touches. The historic Estate House, dressed in full Christmas splendor, created a setting that was both grand and deeply nostalgic. Garland-lined staircases, glowing lights, and richly decorated trees gave every corner of the mansion a warm, storybook charm — the kind of atmosphere that makes guests want to linger.
Preparations
First Looks & A Private Ceremony
Hilary and Michael chose to begin their marriage in the most intimate way possible. With only their parents and grandparents present, they exchanged vows in the Gent’s Lounge, gathered close in front of the fireplace. The private ceremony felt sacred and timeless — a quiet, meaningful moment centered on family, legacy, and love. It was a beautiful reflection of the season itself: heartfelt, warm, and full of tradition.
Following the ceremony, guests arrived for cocktail hour inside the Mansion, where they were invited to wander and explore the historic home. As cocktail hour concluded, guests made their way to Nathan Hall for the reception, where they were greeted by a breathtaking Christmas tree and a striking poinsettia “tree” that made a bold and festive statement.

From the lush holiday florals to the thoughtful touches woven throughout the décor, the evening felt cohesive and celebratory. At the end of the night, guests were gifted poinsettias to take home — a living reminder of the joy they shared.
In true winter-wonderland fashion, Hilary and Michael made their grand exit beneath a swirl of “snow” in front of the Estate House, closing the evening in the most enchanting way possible.
