Wedding Planning: Union Grove October 2024

A Golden Autumn Celebration
Sara and Spencer’s October wedding at Union Grove was everything you’d hope for in a fall celebration—warm, golden tones, personal moments, and more fun packed into a day than anyone could need. Their vision of a southern, rustic vibe came to life beautifully against the barn’s aesthetic, with bold yellows and rich fall accents filling the day with color and joy.
Getting Ready for "I Do"
The morning started with laughter and excitement as Sara and her bridesmaids got ready at a charming micro hotel. After hair and makeup, they headed to Union Grove’s vineyard for bridal portraits surrounded by the vines—an autumn-perfect backdrop. Spencer and his groomsmen prepared for the day in the venue’s on-site cabin, where vintage arcade games kept them entertained until it was time to head to the ceremony.
The Outdoor Ceremony
The couple asked a close family friend to officiate their wedding, making the ceremony deeply personal and full of touching stories. Happy tears flowed freely—Sara and Spencer included—setting the tone for a day centered on love, family, and celebration. After exchanging vows, the couple took advantage of the golden October light for romantic sunset portraits. These moments between the ceremony and reception captured their just-married glow and perfectly complemented the autumn colors woven throughout the day.

Guests were treated to a delicious plated meal from Under the Oak, followed by an evening of dancing inside the reception barn. A mobile bar set up outdoors gave everyone a chance to sip cocktails while enjoying the crisp fall night.
Sara made not one, but two incredible wardrobe changes—first stunning in a gown with a lace veil for the ceremony, then swapping into a chic halter mini dress, and finally ending the night in a second reception dress. Each look was its own showstopper, and she shined in every single one.
The Union Grove Party
The couple’s creativity was on full display with unique reception touches, including a guest book canvas, where each person painted their contribution, playful “betting slips” letting guests guess elements like the first dance song or whether there’d be tears during the ceremony, a surprise Sweetwater Italian Ice station that delighted guests, and a fun twist on tradition with a t-shirt toss instead of a bouquet toss.
As the evening came to a close, Sara and Spencer shared a private last dance—just the two of them—before guests lined up for a joyful grand exit. It was the perfect ending to a wedding day that was equal parts heartfelt, golden, and unforgettable.
