Wedding Planning: Union Grove November 2023

Rebecca and William chose beautiful Union Grove Farm in Chapel Hill as the setting for their November wedding, and specifically wanted the barn as the backdrop. Yes! They were married outside in November, and it was absolutely stunning. This venue manages the mix of elegance and casual, southern comfort and chic, and it was a perfect representation of this lovely pair. With their choices of decor, lighting, and florals, attire and dining, these two nailed it in their first big event as a couple. Premier’s Tara loved working with them on this gorgeous ceremony and party.

Wedding Preparations & Pups

Rebecca was invited to get ready at a home near the Union Grove venue, which made it sort of magical. She shared a first look with her bridesmaids and then her betrothed right on the property. Photographer Amanda Sutton was able to capture not only the autumnal colors and setting, but even the couple’s dogs, who participated in the ceremony.

Rebecca’s gown was so romantic and boho, and William’s grey suit was the perfect match. Among the late autumn trees, they look like a pair from a fairytale.

First Looks Outside in Autumn

The Ceremony

A close friend of the couple played “Here Comes the Sun” on guitar as Rebecca came down the aisle.

Capturing the Details

We love so many things about an outdoor wedding in a setting like this one, and Rebecca paid attention to the details. The color palette was spot on with deep oranges, terracotta, creams, browns, greys and white. The natural elements of the barn, the wood and fresh air, the lights and layers of tulle on the gowns, made guests feel transported.

Party favors included card decks (poker nights are a big thing!), and guests were invited to write their name on a wooden heart to be placed under glass. This shadow box will be couple’s guest book. So clever! Even the seating chart for the reception was artfully done, and when they arrived at their tables, they were greeted by a centerpieces created by the bride herself.

A Union Wedding Reception

The setting inside the barn for the reception was incredible, with twinkling lights, white tablecloths and coordinated linens. Instead of the usual reception fare, this couple chose to do something unique and had an amazing pizza food truck that kept delicious slices coming for guests all through dinner. The guests loved it! They also loved the dessert bar that had every kind of sweet you might be craving.

The newlyweds and their guests danced under the twinkling lights and celebrated into the evening, as well they should. It was a wonderful evening for this freshly-minted husband and wife.

Congratulation Rebecca & William
