A Magnolia Wedding
The October wedding of Morgan and David was pretty close to perfect and we don’t say that lightly. Amazing weather, a gorgeous couple, NO detail left unattended and two pretty great locations. The ceremony was outdoors at The Sutherland followed by a reception at Villa Banika. This bride loves magnolias and they made the occasion incredibly personal, elegant and traditional.
Prep Time
Girls in dressing gowns drinking champagne could mean we are in 1920s Paris, but in this case, it describes Morgan and her lovely maids. They all looked glamorous and genuinely excited about the day ahead.
Morgan & David
While the couple currently lives in NYC, theirs was a truly Southern affair and on their day they looked like the promise of a bright future: calm, youthful, fresh-faced and excited to start a new chapter side-by-side.
The Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was held at The Sutherland and the weather the entire day was glorious. Everything in this magnolia themed wedding was luminous and crisp, as if magic touched every detail. The palette Morgan chose was complimented by the grounds and surrounding environment.
The Details
The details for this wedding were well thought out to be sure. Morgan’s mother drove everywhere looking for white pumpkins because those are a favorite of Morgan’s. She also wanted loads or magnolias, and those, thankfully, were easier to find. Her sweet grandmother’s property hosts huge magnolia trees, and she allowed the bride to cut and take as many as she liked. White, pink, blush, greens and wood textures were all incorporated in the wedding ceremony, in the florals and at the reception. It all spoke to a Southern elegance, playfulness and style.
The Reception
At Villa Banika, guests were treated to drinks and dancing, toasts and laughter. The party went on late into the evening and included a sparkler send off. Congratulations Morgan and David and best of luck to you both. We loved being your planners and co-conspirators.
