The Couple
Lauren and Merrick’s Market Hall wedding was actually a wedding and a party, because the couple were married on July 18, 2020 during the height of Covid-19. They essentially “eloped” with a “church wedding” that only included their parents. Even after rescheduling their wedding to Dec. 31st, they had to reschedule again. Solution? Have the wedding ceremony and party celebration on their One Year Anniversary! Done!
Prep Time
The First Look
Why have a first look when you’ve been married for a year? Because it’s romantic and Lauren looked like an angel! Seeing these two finally able to have their big day, after so many adjustments and recalculations, was so exciting. They were finally able to “gown and suit up” and share the day with their friends and family.
The Ceremony
Details & Reception
Favors doubled as guest place cards, a clever idea with a purpose. These watermelon-scented candles were handmade from a company that employs adults with autism and other learning disorders. Lauren’s oldest sister has autism, so this special detail was important to Lauren and Merrick. Watermelon also happens to be Merrick’s favorite scent.
Lauren’s family are all from NY and wanted to have Italian pastries from a local bakery in Wake Forest called La Dolce Vita. They were a delicious hit with everyone. During the reception, there was plenty of dancing and celebrating. The couple even had the DJ play “Thunder” by AC/DC, and a huge group of friends and family played the thunder drinking game!!
Congratulations
These two are just hitting their stride. One year of marriage under their belts and still madly in love. All the best to you both, Lauren and Merrick! You did it!
