Wedding Planning: The Valora Oak Estate :: May 2025

A Three-Part Celebration at Valora Oak

When Alexandra Duffy and Fang Lin began planning their wedding weekend at Valora Oak (formerly Champion’s Estate), they knew exactly what mattered most: time with the people they love. Rather than a single day of festivities, the couple rented the estate for the entire weekend, inviting 30–40 close friends to stay on the property and celebrate together.

The result was a wedding that unfolded like a story—one that honored heritage, welcomed guests into a joyful celebration, and ended with a true after-party to remember.

A Meaningful Beginning: The Tea Ceremony

An Outdoor Ceremony in Full Spring Color

The formal ceremony took place outside, facing the stately Main House at Valora Oak. Guests were seated along a distinctive double-sided curved aisle, allowing Alexandra and Fang to be surrounded by their loved ones as they made their way to the altar.

The palette felt like the very best of spring: soft yellow and pink with lively pops of blue, bringing warmth and brightness to the estate’s lush grounds.

Before the ceremony, the couple shared a first look, creating a quiet moment together before the day’s joyful momentum truly began.

Cocktail Hour That Felt Like a Garden Party

After the ceremony, guests flowed naturally into an extended cocktail hour that made full use of the property’s indoor and outdoor spaces. The Main House buzzed with conversation while others gathered outside near the pool, drinks in hand, enjoying the warm May evening.

Thoughtful details made the experience feel relaxed and festive, like the fresh oyster shucking service, delicious passed appetizers, fully stocked open bar, custom matchboxes, bottle openers, and lighters for guests to take home.

It felt less like a formal interlude and more like the beginning of a truly great party.

The Valora Oak Reception

For Fang, the celebration wasn’t complete without one more act.

After the reception, guests made their way to the estate’s recreation building, where a fully separate after-party awaited. With its own DJ, lighting, and rentals, the space transformed into a late-night celebration that kept the music and dancing going well into the evening.

It was the perfect finale to a wedding weekend designed around one simple idea: great friends, great energy, and plenty of time to celebrate together.

And in that way, Alexandra and Fang’s wedding wasn’t just one event—it was a shared experience their guests will remember for years to come.
