This is what happiness looks like, … and she hasn’t even seen the groom yet! First a mini back story:
Alyse Armstrong married her sweetheart Richard Greer in June of 2018 at The Cloth Mill in Eno River in Hillsborough, NC. This industrial wedding space is both historic and modern and has lots of spots for great photos, a first look, an outdoor ceremony and gorgeous reception. The couple took advantage of the brick which made the bride and her maids in their white and mocha gowns look ethereal and relaxed.
This couple’s first look moment was particularly beautiful because Alyse sort of looks like a little fairy floating toward him and they seem lost in the moment, even standing out against the industrial setting. It’s a great departure from some of the more traditional settings Premier Party Planners operates, where a first look may be in a garden, by water or on an estate home’s expansive porch. This is unpretentious and ultra cool.
Beyond the industrial venue, the lack of “poof” in the gowns, the groomsmen’s blue suits and more minimal elements, were some truly standout details, and many of these were provided by family.
The bride’s mother lives abroad, but brought all of the umbrellas used in decor with her. The lovely lavender centerpieces were made by Alyse herself and the dream catchers and table runners that were part of their reception were family heirlooms. All of these touches made this contemporary wedding feel warm and incredibly special. We loved that mixed in with the modern were nods to the past: the Walt Whitman quote and invitation for guests to be a part of a quilt are two examples.

Alyse and Richard’s send off was with ribbon wands, since sparklers are permitted, but it was FABULOUS. This couple headed to Kauai for their honeymoon and we hope they celebrate their lives in style for years and years to come!
