It takes a LOT of planning – Premier Party Planning you might say, to get to this point seen below … the sparklers, and the joyous, “we did it” moment of the wedding day. But look at them. THAT, dear reader, is happiness. How did we get there? How do notes, and Pintererst boards and dreams become an event? And who are these two darlings below? Glad you asked.

Ivy and Ethan were married at Ethan’s parent’s home in August. It was a gorgeous summer day and these two deserve nothing less. They may be one of the sweetest couples we’ve planned for and interacted with in a while. They were so fun, friendly and humble, so excited and inclusive – it made the experience entirely wonderful.

Ethan’s dad built or refurbished many of the wood pieces incorporated into their setting and combined with Ivy’s vision of a white wedding with rose and gold touches – it was magic. Anyone who tells you that you cannot have an elegant outdoor wedding and reception is dead wrong. Not only did they envision it, with the help of Premier and amazing vendor friends – they MORE than pulled it off. Pay attention to details, brides-to-be out there and you’re halfway there.

From font choice, to limited but specially selected color-scapes, to classic touches, Ivy painted the picture and we all worked to see it realized.

This couple made their Christian faith a part of their day in a variety of ways, but one of the sweetest caught by their photographer, was their desire to have their attendants prayer over them separately and then be surrounded during their vows to be prayed over as a united couple at the altar. Including your faith, your values, your heritage, your personal histories and travels – all of these can make a wedding a personal and memorable event.

Brides and grooms are making the “first look” moment and sharing private letters and vows a part of their wedding day more than ever. We have to say, we love this! Your wedding is a public celebration and a chance to receive love from your family, friends and dearest ones. And it is certainly a chance to tell those prominent “loves” in your life how deeply grateful you are for them. Journies are never entirely traveled alone.

A wedding though is also the beginning of one of the most important contracts you’ll enter into in life. It’s not a show on Broadway (well, it could be, we suppose, but ….). So, taking a beat, away from the ceremony itself, to remember what you’re doing, with whom and why, and to breathe the same private air with that person, is a sacred thing. Ivy and Ethan handled this beautifully.

An August wedding can be hot as blazes or lovely, lush and green. Theirs was the latter and Ivy’s color palette combined with Ethan’s parent’s property made for a perfect setting on a fabulous day.

From a planning perspective, many of the vendors for this wedding were friends of the family or dear friends they knew through their church, so the warmth and “all hands on deck” feel was there as the day was planned and as the date approached. Everything needed to transform the house and property into a wedding venue had to be brought in and/or created. The results were impeccable.

Finally, we get to the end of the evening on a beautiful summer night. Never underestimate the value of lights when you’re looking to create magic. String lights, candles and ambient illumination create a sense of transformation for a place and transport guests away from their daily lives into a celebratory mode. It is a party, afterall.

Congratulations, Ivy and Ethan! We wish you so much happiness and we hope for many, many years of love, good health and unmitigated joy. CHEERS!
