Nicole & Brian live in downtown Raleigh, and noticed that Heights House was undergoing renovations. They knew it would be the perfect venue for their intimate winter wedding. The couple wanted an elegant wedding with an art deco feel – think the 1920’s feel and that’s what we helped them achieve.
Preparations
Nicole’s gown was an absolute show-stopper, with beading and a beautiful cape style veil. She evoked Daisy Buchanan from The Great Gatsby.
The Ceremony
These two said their I Dos in front of the fireplace in an intimate ceremony. Once again, it evoked the sophistication of the Gilded Age when couples tied the knot in a mansion and then followed it up with a party.
The Details
Once Nicole and Brian were husband and wife, the couple and their guests gathered in the parlor for a celebratory champagne toast and then moved on to cocktail hour.
Dinner was hosted outside under a clear top tent, so guests literally dined under the stars. There was even a bit of snow, as if there wasn’t enough romance. From the custom cookies, elaborate florals featuring lush greenery, white blooms and kumquats, and the interior design of the venue, it was transporting. After dinner guests moved back into the house for dancing and dessert before retiring upstairs in the guest rooms for the night.
