Emerald and Eric were married in September of 2024 at the charming and storied Historic Wakefield Barn. Tucked away in the North Carolina countryside, this venue combines rustic elegance with timeless character—perfect for a thoughtful couple like E&E. With its soaring ceilings, vintage wood beams, and pastoral surroundings, Wakefield provided a stunning backdrop for every part of their day.
The Couple
From the moment we met Emerald and Eric, we knew we were in for something special. Sweet, thoughtful, and intentional in every way, they were a joy to work with throughout the entire planning process. Emerald, especially, was devoted to making sure every detail was considered and nothing was overlooked. Their love for one another—and their people—was evident in every decision they made.
Preparations for I Do
A First Look
Set against this beautiful backdrop, Emerald and Eric’s day began with a private first look outside. It was a quiet, tender moment for just the two of them before all the festivities began.
Their ceremony, held indoors, was intimate and elegant, accompanied by the soft, romantic music of a harpist. With close friends and beloved family looking on, they exchanged vows in a heartfelt celebration of their story so far—and the one they’re just beginning.

The Glorious Wedding Details
Wakefield Barn’s charm set the tone, but it was Emerald’s eye for detail that brought everything together so seamlessly. From the ceremony setup to the flow of the evening, every piece was thoughtfully planned. After the “I do’s,” guests made their way downstairs to the stables area and the outdoor patio to enjoy cocktails and appetizers while the vendor team worked their magic upstairs.
The Wakefield Wedding Reception
The flip of the reception space on the barn’s second floor was pulled off flawlessly—and fast! Thanks to the incredible team effort (special shoutout to Unforgettable Food Affairs), the room was transformed in no time at all. And the food? Let’s just say their name is well-earned—guests are still raving about how unforgettable everything tasted. The rest of the evening was filled with celebration, laughter, dancing, and love.
This was one of those weddings that sticks with you. From the beauty of the venue to the heart behind every detail, Emerald and Eric’s day was everything a wedding should be—warm, personal, and full of joy. Cheers to the happy couple!
