Wedding Planning: Pinehurst Resort: September 2024

The Pinehurst Resort

Allie Yates and Nathan Sessions tied the knot in unforgettable fashion at the iconic Pinehurst Resort & Hotel in September 2024. Known for its timeless Southern charm and world-class golf, Pinehurst provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding that was both elegant and joyfully unconventional. The sweeping grounds, stately architecture, and historic energy of the resort created an atmosphere of celebration from the moment guests arrived.

Preparations & First Looks

Outdoor Pinehurst Ceremony

Allie and Nathan chose to see each other for the first time at the altar, making their ceremony entrance especially emotional. Just as vows were being exchanged, a surprise rainstorm rolled in, briefly pausing the moment. But with patience and good humor, the guests and wedding party waited out the rain. Once the skies cleared, the ceremony resumed right where it left off—proof that love (and laughter) really can weather any storm.

Adding another personal and playful touch, the couple’s beloved dog was present for the ceremony, bringing a bit of their everyday joy into the day’s most meaningful moments. They also exchanged heartfelt gifts before walking down the aisle, creating a quiet, intimate memory they’ll treasure forever.

The unity ceremony was anything but traditional. Instead of candles or sand, Allie and Nathan each poured a beer from their favorite local brewery into a shared glass, then took a sip together—joined by their wedding party for a toast that truly reflected their style.

The Details

Allie’s love of hot pink took center stage, with bold tropical florals and vibrant accents woven throughout the décor. Forgoing the typical fall palette, the couple embraced vivid, saturated colors that felt fresh and fun, setting a festive tone for the entire day.

A particularly charming personal touch? The table numbers. Designed by the bride herself, each one featured a photo of both Allie and Nathan at the age that corresponded with the table number—guests dined at “When We Were 5,” “When We Were 16,” and so on.

The seating chart was equally creative: Premier’s boxwood wall displayed escort cards beneath a custom neon sign made by the couple—a perfect mix of modern flair and personality.

A Perfect Pinehurst Reception

The celebration didn’t stop at dinner. Guests were treated to a show-stopping espresso martini tower that closed the night on a high (and caffeinated) note. And we mentioned this couple chose fun and memorable ways to celebrate? For the rehearsal dinner, the fun was already in full swing with a putt-putt course that let guests play and mingle in true Pinehurst fashion.

For their send-off, Allie and Nathan skipped sparklers and opted instead for a playful combination of bubbles and light-up ribbon wands—sending them off in a swirl of light, color, and celebration. It was a day of color, character, and deep connection—a perfect beginning for Allie and Nathan.
