Olivia Daley and Blake Spangeberg were married at Walnut Hill during this season of Covid in August of this year. This bride never let the fact that she had to make modifications get her down. Olivia grew up just down the road from Walnut Hill and her awareness of the place, and the gorgeous events held there, only solidified that she’d made the right choice. We love Walnut Hill and agree that not only was it the perfect spot, but a pretty fabulous day all around.

The Ceremony
Images of the ceremony were kept private and we appreciate that. The ceremony was outside and the guest list was much reduced to allow for those closest to the couple to be present and stay safe. They said their vows at the base of an old and fully green tree at Walnut Cove. The blues of the suits, white gown and bridesmaids in soft lavender created a scene of late summer beauty.
The Details
Much of the décor for this outdoor wedding was passed down from Olivia’s parent’s wedding. The 21st century bride wanted to incorporate elements that were special to her and to her family and they added personal touch. Groom Blake made the reception backdrop from boxwood, and it doubled as a “selfie station” for guests. Although during the reception we all got caught in the rain and it called for rain all day on the wedding day. The weather held out and was beautiful all the way through the ceremony, cocktail hour and into the reception.
Pandemic or no pandemic, these two newlyweds make an adorable couple and were able to have their day in their way and we are so proud to have been a part of it. Congratulations and love to you both!
